However, monitor your SPS corals closely, as they may stress or brown during these warmer periods.
Using a dual-stage temperature controller, like a Ranco or a Neptune controller, helps regulate your chiller and heaters effectively. Setting up the temperature controls to activate the fans or turn off lighting when temperatures exceed a certain threshold can also help stabilize conditions.
Essential filtration equipment includes a good skimmer, a refuge with macroalgae, live rock, and a nitrates reactor. Incorporating a dual-chamber calcium reactor can also help maintain calcium levels effectively for SPS corals.
Performing a 10-15% water change weekly helps maintain stable water parameters, dilute any toxins, and replenish essential elements. Regular water changes also support coral health and prevent the build-up of unwanted nutrients.
